Nurse Assistant- CNA Training

CNA's are in Demand!

The American Red Cross CNA Nurse Assistant Training Program offers students the opportunity  to learn in a hands-on environment under the eyes of experienced licensed nurses, bolstered by a curriculum that meets or exceeds federal and state standards.

Graduates of the program are eligible to take the Minnesota CNA competency examination. After successful completion of the state exam (additional state testing fees may apply) you will be listed on the state Nurse Aide Registry. The state competency exam includes both a written examination and a skills evaluation.  The state exam ensures  that the graduate understands and can safely perform in the role of an entry-level nurse assistant.

*During Covid-19 clinical rotations have been waived so that employers can hire CNA’s quickly after completion of the course.

Course Information:

The Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training course has several components. Students must pass all portions of the training in order to graduate.

  1. Blended learning –  First, students complete 43 hours of online training required prior to the listed in classroom dates (session after orientation). Access to the online material will be granted soon after registration.  Those not completing the online portion will not be allowed into the in-person sessions and must reschedule.
  2. Classroom learning / lab – after completing the online portion of the class, students will attend 35 hours of classroom practical / testing sessions.
  3. After successful completion of steps 1 & 2 students may apply for employment and/or register for the state exam for licensure. All information for state testing will be provided after your course.
